Inspire: Me Healthy

This is my Second link-up of all time!

Photobucket

Today I am linking up with Kristen from All In My Twenties and Raven from Don't Quote the Raven, I have been a fan of these two ladies for a while now and being that I am fan of all things skinny Healthy I thought maybe I'll jump on this train!

Growing up I was blessed with a kick ass metabolism which enabled me to eat just about whatever I wanted without having to do one bit of exercise. Well that song and dance was over when I was introduced to Mr. AL-CO-HOL and Mrs. College. Nine years later I am still a college student and very well acquainted with my good pal Al-co-hol, needless to say I have decided that I need to get just plain healthy.

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE THE NEW ME,

MEATLESS MEG!

That's right I have decided to give up meat. I am on day four and I am doing okay. I haven't craved my go-to meal of chicken fingers or the ever so delicious Wendy's cheeseburger yet, however I feel like after a few cocktails one night my self discipline will be tested. Until then I am in it to win it... I mean I WILL NOT EAT  MEAT NO MATTER WHAT. So while changing up my diet I have also decided to have a weekly weigh in (with pictures) and to keep a food/exercise/weight journal. Which has been awesome with the help of my new Meal Planner Notebook from May Books

This guy is pretty awesome and Affordable!

So here are my stats:

Week 1
Weight: 124.4
Exercise: 5 miles of bridge running.
Meals: No meat... I have a recipe that I will post at the bottom for awesome Veggie Enchiladas.
Pictures:

So there we have it.... hoping with the help of Inspire: Me Healthy I will really get my butt in gear!

This week I made Veggie Enchiladas, they were delicious!

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

What you mean he don't eat no MEAT!

Fantastic Friday's Letters ... my first link up!

Here goes NOTHIN:

Dear Indian River State College Adviser Lady, I am meeting with you in 4 hours, please take pity on this old gal. It has taken my nine looooong years to get this far in my college career. I know the rule in Florida says on your 3rd attempt of a course you must pay out of state tuition, but 2,342 is a lot if doll-hairs that I don't have! The Gators are chomping at the bit to let me in their school...and all I need to do is finish two measly little classes!

Dear Honey Boo Boo Child, Please of please use this fame to your advantage. You are sweeping this nation in good and bad ways and I cannot help but fear that your fame is only going to hurt you in some way. I hope that some how you come out of all this as the Beauty Queen Glitzy you are!!!!

Dear Election Season, I don't know why it took me so long to vote. This past week I voted for the first time and I loved it!!! Ye,s I didn't know exactly what I was doing and yes I may have guessed on a few candidates but it sure did feel good walking away with that awesome sticker!!!!

Dear Grown up me, Lighten up a little bit.

Dear Football Season, Hurry Up!

Dear Nate (my bacon boo boo), Thank you for always being so awesome and supportive. You know just when to lift me up and bring me back to reality. I love being with you and I love growing with you!

DEAR FRIDAY, What took you so long??????

Have a great weekend... I hope I did okay on my first link up!

MY Hopes and Dreams and the source of all my anxiety!

It is no secret that I am a dreamer, constantly living 5 steps ahead of reality. This can be good for planning purposes and bad for .... well my boyfriend. This morning I had a plethora of thoughts and ideas. So now I am going to attempt to get all of my hopes and dreams for today out in the open for all of the inter-webs to see! Let me begin with the event that consumes 75% of my daily thoughts!

My Future wedding.... sorry Future Fiance

Date: January - April 2014

Wedding #1 - Location Orlando Fl.
Ceremony: unknown

Studio 222 Photography ps20 Erin & Alexs wedding at the Cypress Grove Estate House

Oh isn't it just glorious?! Mr. FF (future fiance) and I had an opportunity to go look at the above property. The pictures just do not do it justice. It would be a beautiful venue for our wedding, IF we decide to go that direction. Insert wedding #2

Wedding #2 - Longwood, Fl.
Ceremony: unknown
Reception: The Willbur Residence

I regret to say I have not one picture to share of my boyfriend's parent's home in Longwood Fl. It too is situated on a beautiful lake with a charming dock. They have a deck right off the back of the house that is a perfect place to watch the sun set. They have a pretty decent sized lot with ample room for hosting a reception. It would be quaint, charming, romantic and it is number one on my list!

Wedding #3 - Napa CA.
Ceremony: unknown
Reception: The Caneros Inn

Ill let the pictures do the talking....

I am just over the moon about this location. I think a wedding in Napa is beyond perfection.

This dream wedding at this moment remains a far in the distance dream as a very important question has yet to be asked. But until then I will most likely remain the lunatic normal girl who will plan four more "perfect weddings" and continue to stalk style me pretty

Have a great Thursday!

What happened to the last 5 months??.... OK OK Keep your pants on.... I'll bring you up to speed... Your Welcome!

Yes it has been 5 months, give or take, since the last time I got on this Le Blog to get my ramble on! Well I'm here today to play a little Catch Up.

So here goes nothing:

February.... Shitty

Nate had a heart attack. Not a clench your chest call the ambulance kind but more like "Meg its hard to breath. Google heart attack symptoms." It was a very very random event that took place and sometimes its still hard to believe that it happened. Nate was having a hard time breathing and started to complain of discomfort in his jaw.  It was at that time after just reading the symptoms of a heart attack on WebMd that I calmly demanded that Nate put on clothes and GET IN THE CAR!!!! After three very long weird/scary/tiresome days Nate was released from the hospital and sent home. Adjusting back to normal day to day was difficult but after a couple of weeks things began to "normal out." Enter in March.

March.... Busy

March's calender made me want to crawl up under my bed with a bottle of wine and not come out until April (okay maybe a case of wine).

This month included
1. A Fun. Concert in Orlando
2. Bach Weekend for Christina in Charlotte, NC on St. Patties (Green Ridiculousness to the face)
3. Class two times a week EVERY WEEK
and
4. A Stock The Boat Party. Bring on the booze!

I'll let the pics do the talking....

April.... Nate-less

This month was pretty easy breezy beautiful for me, however Nate was out of town for TWO WHOLE WEEKENDS.... what. am. I. to. do?
Nate attended two Bachelor parties in this month. One in Islamorada and the other in Virginia Beach. During that time I was able to indulge in a little "Me" time. Which included but was not limited to ... massages, sushi dinner with all my old buddies, sleepovers with the bride to be, family time by the pool, bike rides with my Annie and boat races.
All in all this was a pretty chill month!

May.... Hold the Phone Kids I got a degree!!

Yes you heard right after 9 very long/weird/lazy/non-motivated/got-motivated/busy years I earned my AA degree!! Whoop Whoop! So as they say you gotta "keep on keepin on"... and that's exactly what I did! Mostly this month consisted of wedding prep for our friends Steven and Christina, and when I say wedding prep I mean counting down the days until we were in the Keys celebrating. Those two love birdies did EVERYTHING talk about DIY... if Martha Stewart had an award show these two crazies would take the cake. Their wedding took place Memorial Day weekend in Islamorada and it was a BLAST!
Congrats to them!

June.... Mini Vacay and more Weddings

June was great! I got a week off to go play with Nate in Orlando while he attended a Engineering Conference at the Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I got to lay out and read the ever so popular Fifty Shades of Grey Books! Much needed down time! After which we flew up to DC where we got to play in the city and attend one of the best weddings I have ever been to! Mental note: do not slack on the DJ! Nate was also offered a job this month. Saving those deets for July.

July .... Independence Day Celebrations and the time my whole life changed!

First off Congrats to my babe for getting a great job! We have had to make some adjustments..like..Nate no longer lives with me. Monday through Thursday Nate lives in Orlando. He is currently "getting to know" his new firm and some of his coworkers while he lives there. The plan is to have him open an office down south but that is not for a few months! So he is currently working (bless his heart) four ten hour days and traveling home on Thursday nights to be with me on the weekends. I'll be honest the first couple of weeks were hard but I am adjusting just fine now. (it has been a month) Also this month we attended for the second time the Papa Look Alike Contest ... It again was a BLAST. I have met some of the most generous kindhearted people on this trip.... oh and Paula Deen! The month of July ended with me, Megan Leigh participating in my first ever Triathlon. Holy shiitake mushrooms it was so great! I got to race with my best-est of friends. I cannot wait for the next one!

So now here we are all caught up! I wont make any promises as I hate telling lies but I hope to pay more attention to this here blog and keep my friends and family updated on our lives!

I hope everyone has enjoyed my little recap! Happy weekend!

PS ... I ALSO got into the University of Florida!

Give Credit Where Credit is due... Turbo Tax I think I love you!

Happy Friday Everybody! Hope everyone had a great week! I know I sound like a broken record when I say "geeeze this week flew by"

BUT IT DID!

Last I recall it was Tuesday and I was (brush my shoulders off) running 4.4 miles (furthest I ever did run) with my dear friend Annie! OH yeah baby!!! I felt so proud! Recently I have been pretty hard on myself. School has never come easily to me and work is a struggle. So there are very few moments in my life that I allow a decent pat on the back. However Tuesday was one of them.

Tomorrow will be another day where I give myself a good ol attagirl! Annie, Natey, and I are running a 10K (6.2 miles) with our CrossFit peeps! I am excited and TERRIFIED!

But before we get to tomorrow, am so looking forward to My Baby Brother's 26th birthday dinner at Benni's tonight!!!! Nothing beats a little Hibachi show! I hope the chef lets me catch a shrimp in my mouth! (I always miss)

I would also like to take a moment and give credit where credit is due. Right now in my heart there are three people that I feel need a little shout out. This doesn't mean that those dear to me, not mentioned do not deserve a feature post. This only means for the sake of time and space I will highlight a few.

Mom! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't admire you.Your work ethic and passion for people is nothing short of awesome! I only hope that I am somehow resembling some of those characteristics. You are strong willed with a sweet/good warm heart. Momma I love you!

Nate! Oh monkey I count my lucky stars that I get to come home to you. I know in my heart of all hearts that you and I are meant to be us forever. You have gone from my boyfriend who brightens my day to my best friend who sticks by my side to finally part of what I consider my family. I find peace in my heart knowing your my monkey for all the days! (I commend you for finding some charm in all the quirky things I say and do. PS you were right about watching Revenge right before bed time.... I had nightmares)

Nadia! My Chissy! There isn't enough space for the praise I have for you and your support. I cannot call you my best friend because I already consider you a sister. I do not know what I would do without our daily phone convo's. You are one of those women that people admire before they even know you. You exude confidence, grace, and warmth. Next to my mother you are another woman I look up to!

NOW COME VISIT ME DAMMIT I feel the world could use a little smelly cat

I also want to make a shout out to Turbo Tax! Sanks guys! With your help and my tax return I will have a few extra doll-hairs to TREAT MYSELF!

I think I will start with a pair of these
NIKE Women's Air Max+ 2011 Running Shoes - SportsAuthority.com
The Nike+ that can link to your Iphone and track you running progress!

Nate and I have a bunch of weddings coming up and I have my eye on a few frocks!

ASOS Strapless Dress In Mesh

ASOS One Shoulder Drape Dress with Contrast Belt

Image 1 of ASOS Wrap Dress with Tie Waist

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST! I AM STARTING AN IRA!

I guess a long time ago I started one while working for the school board and it has $300 in it!!! NOW I am very aware (Thank you Nate Willbur) that it is crucial to contribute my retirement like yesterday! I also know that $300 wouldn't get me out of Publix with food to last me past two weeks. So as soon as I get my monies consider me a IRA contributor!

I certainly hope everyone out there has an excellent weekend! Be safe and smile!

ONE Month down TWO more to go & FACE lifts!

Hello there!!! Bout that time for a "Crazy for CrossFit Update"

So I am just a few days shy of hitting my one month CrossFit mark! I joined to tone and strengthen myself physically and mentally! At this point I have accomplished both of those wants. CrossFit anywhere is NO joke. Seriously people all ages, shapes and sizes are welcome and wanted! Now I wont go all crossfit cray but I will be honest with you, I am a better person for going. Just the other day Nate and I rolled out of bed and went into the gym for the 9 am workout. To start my "better me" confessional I am proud to say that last Saturday morning was the first in a long time that I did not wake with a hangover. (I FELT AMAZING) So we go into the gym, not having checked the workout online I was first to discover that our workout consisted of 100 pull ups and 100 Burpees. I wanted to high tail it right on out of there! But I didn't and I completed this work out and I felt pretty accomplished.

Needless to say while CrossFit seems like a "hell no" activity, there isn't a day that I leave the gym regretting ANYTHING!

Here are some One Month Mark pics!

In other News! Nate and I are going to be doing some landscaping. We are hosting our very Awesome friends "Stock the Boat Party" for their wedding.

Our house has A LOT of plants. The former owners must have had very GREEN thumbs.I on the other hand know absolutely nothing about plants, flowers, fertilizer ... etc. So while visiting Nate's momma we started flower shopping. As of right now these are our candidates:

I am going to start some research this weekend on how to care for them and how long i can expect them to stay alive. I am pretty excited to get my hands dirty!

I hope everyone has a glorious Tuesday. It has rained this entire week (2 days) and it sure has put a damper on things. I am hoping it clears up so that I may get in a run this evening. My Annie Friend and I are going to start a biweekly running routine. We run then we eat! So the plan is that we will meet, run a 5k then go grab some dinner! Perfect Tuesday!

Have a good one!
